Linda Coad CPA

Linda has 30 years of experience in public and private accounting. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 1990 and began her career in public accounting at Coopers & Lybrand in Portland, Maine. She relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina in October 1992 and worked for Price Waterhouse for two more years. Her combined Big Four experience includes individual taxation and financial statement audits of privately and publicly held, local and foreign based companies. Industries served include manufacturing, real estate, construction, retail, mining, textile, college and university, insurance and newspaper.

Lind’s work in the private sector includes a position as Senior Accountant of international reporting during the relocation of ALTIUM, an IBM Company, from Los Angeles, California to Charlotte, North Carolina. She interfaced with IBM corporate accounting and foreign offices on financial reporting matters. She was responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements for six foreign subsidiaries, domestic operations, and a Japanese joint venture. She provided assistance with the start up of the company’s new corporate headquarters.

Linda also worked for Faison & Associates, Inc. as Project Accountant for two years. She prepared financial reports and comprehensive annual budgets for a portfolio of office towers, office parks, shopping malls and strip centers. She was responsible for evaluating cash flows, calculating partnership contributions and distributions for multi-level ownership tiers, training and supervising property bookkeepers, recording all debt refinancing and restructuring transactions and assisting independent auditors with year end financial statement audits.

In 1994, Linda began to develop a public accounting practice and has been servicing clients from her Dilworth office for 26 years. Her practice areas are individual and corporate taxation, general business consulting and litigation support. She serves domestic and foreign based partnerships, corporations, estates and individuals. Linda also provides project based services to clients that include general ledger and inventory software conversion and implementation, budgeting and cash flow projections, litigation support for criminal proceedings and divorce proceedings, training, assistance and consulting with start up companies, and interim support during transitions of key personnel. Industries served include real estate, environmental, medical, legal, engineering, construction, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, technology, not-for-profit, and service.

Linda has been a member of the NCACPA since 1997 and AICPA since 1998. Linda's practice was established in Dilworth, a historic suburb of Charlotte. Linda has served on the boards of the Dilworth Community Development Association and the Dilworth Child Development Center. Linda is certified to practice public accounting in North Carolina.
